The Judges and Magistrates Vetting Board has today, 14th January, 2016 released its seventeenth Determination on the suitability of vetted magistrates and one judge. In a press conference held on the 22nd floor of Anniversary Towers, the Chairman of the Board read out the Determinations stating that eight magistrates were found unsuitable to continue serving while 28 were found suitable.
Lady Justice Abida Ali Aroni who had undergone re-vetting was also found suitable to continue serving. The eight magistrates found unsuitable to continue are:
- Hon. Timothy Odiwuor Okello
- Hon. William Kipkemei Chepseba
- Hon. Jacinta Kwena Dibondo
- Hon. Samuel Mokua Mogaka
- Hon. Roselyn Akinyi Oganyo
- Hon. Nyagah Jessi Njagi
- Hon. Lucy Kathure Mutai
- Hon. Teresia Mumbua Matheka
Other Board members present at the press event were; The Vice Chair Ms. Roseline Odede, Members, Mr. Abdirashid Abdullahi, Mr. Justus Munyithya, Rtd. Chief Justice Barnabas Samatta, Rtd. Deputy Chief Justice Alice Mpagi-Bahigeine, Mrs. Meuledi Iseme, Prof. Ngotho Wa Kariuki and the Secretary/Chief Executive of the Board, Mr. Reuben Chirchir.
