In our endeavour to comply with Article 35 of the Constitutional rights to access to information, the Board has published various reports and also transcribed the same into braille and audio formats.
As the Board continues its core mandate in vetting, the Board has also been distributing these reports around the counties. During the second week of October, the Board distributed the said reports to different institutions and centres for the visually impaired in Kitui and Machakos Counties. In Machakos County, we visited, Kangundo DEB Primary and Secondary schools, Machakos Teachers Training College and Machakos Technical Institute for the Blind.
Meanwhile, a different team also visited The Dioceses of Embu, The Dioceses of Isiolo and Kenya Methodist University where the team presented the reports to the Vice Chancellor of the University. The VC Prof. Henry Kiriamiti, lauded the Board for the initiative saying the reports in Braille will be instrumental in boosting the capacity of the University’s special unit for the Visually Impaired.
